BIOGRAPHY

Artist Statement and Bio
I create acrylic paintings to illustrate the act of looking and analyzing an object, using paint as a vehicle to capture shifts in color, light, and texture within organic forms, while subtly conveying personal narratives from my life. Through each body of work, I search for special moments in the mundane and brings an emotive yet technical approach to observing the ordinary. Each piece loosely translates some of my fondest memories that I felt called to reproduce with my brush, enhancing the ever-evolving beauty of nature's gifts. I draw from subjects that are close to home, reflecting on my personal interests, scenic trips across the country, and the connection between humanity and the environment as I reminisce about my family’s old fruit market. Searching for the sublime in the everyday, I invite viewers to see through my lens and find their own connections to the subjects, gaining a deeper appreciation for the small joys in life. As a future educator, I utilize the production of my work as an opportunity to paint a wide variety of subjects so I can teach future generations how to effectively convey their own artistic expressions.
